Building on the success of HBF Geraldton RunFest 2013, Geraldton Harriers has embraced a new level of organisation, professionalism and participation for the 2014 event. With an accredited new course taking in the magnificient Champion Bay and many iconic landmarks of the City, we are to again host a wider festival of running,walking and health around the traditional Marathon event.
The overall Run Fest will take the format of a pre-event function Saturday evening, marathon and associated event categories Sunday morning, alongside a ‘Festival’ (related business/organisation trade fair, come and try, sponsors, giveaways, free family activities), culminating in formal presentations and entertainment on Sunday afternoon and evening.
The dates for the Geraldton Run Fest 2014 are Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th July, 2014. The location is centered at the Geraldton Foreshore, with the course incorporating Champion Bay, and taking in local icons such as Point Moore Lighthouse, Grain Silos, City Foreshore, St George’s Beach and the Chapman River. Formal event functions are to be held in the Geraldton Yacht Club premises, with the event start and finish on the nearby foreshore grounds.
